Reduce background noise around spoken voice with AI Voice Isolation, review the result on your timeline, and restore original audio when needed.

## AI Noise Removal

A fan, room hum, or other background sound can make recorded speech harder to follow. ChatCut’s **AI Voice Isolation** suppresses non-voice sound around spoken human voice, so you can review cleaner dialogue in the same editable timeline.

Use it for interviews, talking-head footage, lessons, and voiceover. It is not a general-purpose cleanup tool for music, ambience, or sound effects: isolating speech can remove sounds you meant to keep.

Review spoken audio in the context of your edit

## Clean up a spoken-voice clip

1. Select the video or audio clips that contain speech.
2. Right-click and choose **AI Voice Isolation**.
3. Wait for **Isolating voice…** to finish, then play the passage in context.
4. If the treatment does not suit the recording, right-click and choose **Restore original audio**.

The picture and original source asset are not changed. Playback and export use a cleaned audio derivative for the treated timeline item. See the current [Timeline guide](https://pr-535-preview.chatcut.dev/docs/timeline#isolate-spoken-voice) for the controls and behavior.

1

#### Choose speech

Select dialogue, an interview, or voiceover. Keep music and ambience separate.

2

#### Isolate the voice

Apply AI Voice Isolation to the selected video or audio clips.

3

#### Listen in context

Review intelligibility, natural delivery, and any background sound you wanted to retain.

4

#### Keep or restore

Keep the cleaned audio if it helps, or use Restore original audio on the treated item.

## Ask an agent for the same focused edit

Identify the spoken-voice clip and the sound that interferes with it. For example:

```text
Reduce the fan noise around the speech in @interview. Keep the picture and leave the music track unchanged. Let me review the cleaned passage before making other edits.
```

Check the returned result in the editor. A request or processing completion is not proof that the speech sounds better; listen before deciding to keep the treatment.

## What should I check before exporting?

- **Speech:** words remain intelligible and the delivery sounds natural.
- **Background:** important room sound or other intentional audio has not been removed from the treated clip.
- **Other tracks:** music and sound effects still fit the scene.
- **Edited range:** if a later trim extends beyond the processed range, ChatCut may temporarily use original audio and show a warning. Apply Voice Isolation again to cover the new range.

Processing time and the usefulness of the result depend on the recording and the available processing route. Start with the passage you need and review it before applying the treatment more widely.

For current charges and account allowances, use [Credits History](https://pr-535-preview.chatcut.dev/docs/credits-history) and the options shown in your account. An audio-cleanup example is not a quote for a whole project.

## Continue the edit

Once you are happy with the speech, review [captions](https://pr-535-preview.chatcut.dev/docs/transcript-and-captions) and any [background music](https://pr-535-preview.chatcut.dev/features/ai-music) separately. Check existing transcript words and caption timing after the audio treatment.

For a complete speech-led workflow, follow [Talking Head Edit](https://pr-535-preview.chatcut.dev/docs/talking-head-edit). When the timeline is ready, use the [Export Panel](https://pr-535-preview.chatcut.dev/docs/exporting) to choose your delivery format.
